Translation

I’m THE translator and owner of Atelier Knits, an online store of indie designers’ knitting patterns, translated from English or French into Japanese.
If you are a knitwear designer and your native language is English, you are lucky! And if you’re from a non-English-speaking country, you must remember the first time you discovered a knitting pattern written in English and struggled to get it worked 😉
My store offers Japanese knitters the possibility to knit foreign patterns in their mother tongue.
I work with Alana Dakos, Kirsten Kapur, Stephen West, Åsa Tricosa, Martina Behm, Heidi Kirrmaier, Hélène Magnússon, Isabell Kraemer, Nadia Crétin-Léchenne, Solenn Couix-Loarer, Ariane Caron-Lacoste, Muriel Agator, Kessa Tay, Rose Beck, Julia Trice, Mademoiselle C, Julie Partie and even with Japanese designers who first published their patterns in English.
If you want to join us, please write to me with the form below.

I can also translate your popular patterns so that you can offer them in Japanese on your Ravelry store for example.
Translation fee varies depending on complexity and length of instructions, but is generally:
– 30 to 60 euros (33 to 65 USD) for an accessory;
– 80 to 160 euros (90 to 180 USD) for a garment.
I’m of course open to further discussion 🙂

And I can also translate Japanese patterns into English and French, English into French, and French into Japanese and English!
Please feel free to ask questions!
